We’re just TWO WEEKS away! 💚

Beginning September 17, Dustin’s Place will be joining us at the Dismas HUB to provide grief support for adults in our community.

Grief can feel isolating, but no one should have to navigate it alone. This group will offer a safe, supportive space to connect with others, process loss, and find support through conversation, activities, and shared experiences.

📅 Beginning September 17
⏰ Thursdays | 6:30–7:30 PM
📍 Dismas HUB

Registration is preferred, but not required.

Obstacle: Traverse Wall
Participants have to move sideways, find their grip, and keep going without touching the ground.

For people returning home after incarceration, moving forward can look a lot like that. A direct path to housing, employment, education, healthcare, or identification isn’t always available. Sometimes, moving forward means finding another route.

Reentry isn’t a straight line. When one door closes, people need pathways, support, and someone willing to help them find another way forward.

On October 17, The Road Home Challenge brings these experiences to life through obstacles representing different parts of the reentry journey.

Come take on Traverse and experience the Road Home Challenge for yourself!

September is National Recovery Month. 💜

Recovery doesn’t look the same for everyone. It can mean rebuilding relationships, finding stability, asking for help, discovering new purpose, or simply making the decision to keep going one more day.

This month, we’re celebrating the strength it takes to choose recovery and the people, families, peers, and communities who make sure no one has to do it alone.

Obstacle: Tire Flip

The tire flip is called Momentum because transformation rarely happens all at once.
For someone returning home, progress is often built through small, daily decisions: showing up, making the next phone call, choosing a healthier response, applying for the job, going to the meeting, keeping the commitment. One flip may not seem like much. But one flip leads to another. Over time, effort becomes movement, and movement becomes momentum.

Reentry is a process. It takes persistence, support, and the belief that a different future is possible.

Dismas House has a limited number of Indiana Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credits available!

Through NAP, eligible individuals and businesses may receive an Indiana state tax credit equal to 50% of their qualifying donation. That means a $1,000 gift to Dismas House may qualify for a $500 credit against their Indiana state income tax liability—while supporting housing, services, and opportunities for people rebuilding their lives after incarceration.

Because our allocation is limited, donors must contact us before making a gift intended to receive NAP credits. If requests exceed the credits available, priority will be given to established Dismas House donors.

To reserve credits or ask questions, contact CEO Andee Huxhold at [email protected].
