There’s something different that happens when students step out of the classroom and into real spaces.

During our Student Immersion Experience, students connected with the people behind local companies, explored career paths, and got a feel for what it’s like to live and work in South Bend – Elkhart.

Thank you to the students who showed up curious and ready to engage. And to the employers who welcomed them in, shared your stories, and made this experience meaningful - thank you for showing what’s possible in this region.

Last week, our team had the opportunity to take part in Daffodil Days in support of the American Cancer Society. We were able to personally deliver flowers to patients undergoing treatment.

It was a meaningful reminder of the strength and resilience that exists across our region - and the importance of showing up for one another in both big and small ways.

We were proud to join yesterday’s ribbon cutting in Elkhart’s Delta neighborhood. With more than half of residents coming from outside Indiana, this is exactly the kind of talent-attracting, place-based investment that moves our region forward.

Through READI and continued collaboration across public and private partners, we’re seeing real progress take shape. Congratulations to the teams and partners who brought this vision to life.

This month our President and CEO, Bethany Hartley, was named Woman of the Year by the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce at their 2026 Annual Meeting.

While she couldn’t be there to accept the award in person, we had the chance to celebrate her today - award in hand. ☺️ This recognition speaks to the kind of leadership that moves a region forward: bringing people together, creating opportunities, and building momentum across South Bend – Elkhart.

Bethany shared: “Every day, women across this region are doing the work, growing businesses, strengthening communities, and creating opportunity.” We’re proud to have that kind of leadership guiding this work - and grateful to the Elkhart Chamber for recognizing it.
