⚠️ Finance Office Closure Notice ⚠️

Due to high temperatures and an air conditioning outage, the Finance Office at our temporary Town Hall location (1927 Jeffress Boulevard) closed today at 3:10 p.m.

✅ All other Town offices remain open and will continue normal operations.

The Finance Office is expected to reopen tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.

If you've noticed a smoky haze in our area today, it is primarily due to smoke drifting south from the wildfires in Canada. While the haze may be noticeable, it does not necessarily mean there is a local fire.

However, if you see flames, heavy smoke coming from a specific location, or believe there is an active fire in your area, please call 911 immediately.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe, and please use caution if you are sensitive to smoke or have respiratory conditions.

📢 PUBLIC NOTICE: Finance Department Temporary Relocation

The Town of South Boston Finance Department will be CLOSED on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, as staff relocate to a temporary office during the ongoing Town Hall renovation.

📍 Beginning Thursday, July 23, 2026, the Finance Department will be located at:

Washington Coleman Community Center
1927 Jeffress Boulevard
South Boston, VA

✅ Tax payments will be accepted beginning Thursday, July 23rd

Please note that telephone service may be limited while we complete the move. We anticipate resuming full operations, including normal phone service, by Friday, July 24, 2026.

The following Town offices will already be operating from the Washington Coleman Community Center:

• Town Manager
• Assistant Town Manager
• Town Clerk
• Planning & Zoning
• Human Resources

All other Town of South Boston departments will continue to operate from their current locations and will not be affected by the Finance Department's relocation.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this temporary move. These relocations have been carefully planned to minimize disruptions while renovations to Town Hall continue.
