At approximately 11:41 the South Bound Brook Fire Department as well as the Bound Brook Fire Department was dispatched to the queens bridge for the reported tree fire. Upon arrival of Deputy Chief 23 a pole fire was found due to power lines. Crews awaiting PSE&G and extinguished the fire. Engine 55, and Ranger 55 were on location. Combined between the two apparatus they flowed approximately 1,050 gallons before the pole was cooled enough for PSE&G crews. South Bound Brook and Bound Brook crews cleared at approximately 15:00.

Today Saturday May 9th members of the South Bound Brook Fire Department staged on Main St. With ladder 55, squad 55 and car 55 and flew the American flag from the Ariel of ladder 55 for the annual unity tour bike race to show our support to all the riders. As well as pay our respects to those fallen. We staged for both their warm up ride early in the morning as well as their main ride for the day in the afternoon.

The Police Unity Tour is an annual bicycle ride made up of law enforcement officers and supporters who travel long distances to honor officers who died in the line of duty. The tour raises awareness and funds for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund and ends in Washington DC during National Police Week. Its mission is to remember fallen officers, support their families, and promote public appreciation for law enforcement sacrifices.

We would like to wish all participants luck on their journey down to Washington DC.
