Radar imagery is showing additional scattered showers and embedded thunderstorms will continue to develop over northern New York and spread into Vermont this evening. The primary threat will be brief heavy downpours, localized gusty winds to 40 mph, and isolated cloud to ground lightning. The threat should diminish by 9 PM this evening.

Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible Saturday afternoon and evening. The strongest storms could produce damaging winds, hail up to 1" in diameter, and frequent cloud to ground lightning. We are in the middle of our warm up as high pressure continues overhead. Temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 80s today with light winds, breezier in northern New York. Mid to upper clouds return this afternoon. Remember if you try to cool off today, area lakes and ponds are still in the low to mid 50s.
