Homesharing is a practical solution to Vermont's housing challenges, helping homeowners remain in their homes while connecting home seekers with affordable places to live.

Today, HomeShare Vermont serves residents in twelve Vermont counties — Addison, Caledonia, Chittenden, Essex, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille, Orange, Orleans, Washington, Windham and Windsor — as well as several towns in Rutland County.

After the passing of his beloved wife of 64 years, Adam’s home felt a little quieter.

“I live in a wonderful neighborhood in South Burlington with many friends around me, I didn’t want to leave it. There are four bedrooms here and I thought sharing it with an empathetic person would be a logical solution.”

Through HomeShare Vermont’s matching and screening process, Adam met Daniel, a recent graduate of Texas Christian University who was moving to Vermont to start his career. The two instantly hit it off.
