- Barracks Inspections: Achieving the highest marks during stand-by and open-ranks inspections through immaculate locker arrangements, precise bunk preparation, and flawless cleanliness.
- Drill and Ceremonies: Exhibiting ultimate precision on the drill pad, characterized by sharp marching movements and the flawless ex*****on of commands.
- Military Bearing and Customs: Consistently upholding the highest standards of military courtesy, executing crisp salutes, and maintaining complete composure and focus while at attention.

A special thanks to our logistics staff for all the work they do!

We are incredibly fortunate to have Staff Sergeant Huggins leading our culinary efforts this year. Working tirelessly alongside our logistics personnel, SSgt Huggins ensures our personnel are properly fueled and prepared for every shift and activity. Her dedication has made her an absolute favorite among the staff and participants alike. Thank you, SSgt Huggins.

The dedication extends well beyond just the kitchen. Our outstanding logistics staff operates around the clock to support every part of this encampment. From meal preparation and service to coordinating and managing critical behind-the-scenes operations, they serve as the backbone of our daily functions. An encampment simply cannot succeed without our logistics foundation.

GREEN MOUNTAIN ACADEMY DAY 2 RECAP

Day 2 of the Green Mountain Academy encampment has successfully concluded, with cadets demonstrating significant progress as they adapt to the training environment. The duty day commenced with a physical fitness session led by the First Sergeants, followed by a transition into Class C uniforms for the morning Reveille formation and breakfast.

The training schedule featured rigorous academic instruction and practical discipline exercises across all divisions:

- Academic Instruction: Basic cadets attended a Space Domain Awareness seminar instructed by Captain Bachand, followed by a leadership and core-values session led by Chief Ernst. Simultaneously, the Advanced Training Squadron (ATS) progressed with aerospace engineering projects and completed a comprehensive Range Safety and Marksmanship Course under the instruction of John Jacobs.

- Standards and Discipline: Squadrons 109 and 110 underwent their initial formal inspections today, focusing on uniform presentation and barracks readiness. This was followed by a "Fitness for Life" instructional block and dedicated drill and ceremonies practice.

- Team spirit: Evening activities promoted physical fitness and team cohesion. Basic cadets participated in a competitive ultimate frisbee tournament, where Bravo Flight secured the championship in a narrow 4-3 victory. ATS concluded the duty day with structured field sports and recreational activities.

Logistics and Operations Acknowledgments
A formal commendation is extended to Staff Sergeant Huggins and the logistics staff for their exceptional support. The culinary team has worked tirelessly to provide high-quality sustenance including today’s breakfast wraps and afternoon meals ensuring our personnel remain fully fueled and mission-ready. All participants are encouraged to extend their professional courtesy and appreciation to the logistics team for their around-the-clock efforts.

Each year, cadets and adult volunteers from across the country gather at Vermont Wing’s Green Mountain Academy to develop new skills, build leadership experience, and connect with fellow members. Drawing participants from across the nation is a testament to the academy’s reputation for excellence and the outstanding training opportunities it provides.

This year, Green Mountain Academy is proud to welcome participants from the Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, and Wisconsin Wings, bringing together members from 13 states for an exceptional week of learning, leadership, and camaraderie!

GREEN MOUNTAIN ACADEMY DAY 1 RECAP

Following an incredible Day 0, the momentum carried right into the first official full day of training at the Green Mountain Academy!

Day 1 was focused on establishing the foundation for a rigorous and rewarding week. Bright and early, cadets completed their first physical training session with First Sergeants Hochschild and Silva before transitioning into standard Class C uniforms.

For the Basic Cadets, the day was focused on building core competencies. Cadets participated in vital academic classes covering note-taking, healthy lifestyles, and drug-free living with Captain Bachand, alongside a powerful lesson on the Wingman model and Warrior Spirit with Sergeant Latoundji. They also put their communication skills to the test with the "Human Knot" Team Leadership Problem, sharpened their drill proficiency on the pad, and explored aerospace technology in an interactive UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) class.

Meanwhile, the Advanced Training Squadron (ATS) took their skills to the next level. ATS cadets dived into aerospace engineering by constructing model rockets for Tuesday's upcoming launch, collaborated on core value presentations, and attended advanced seminars on goal setting with 2nd Lieutenant Smith and decision-making with Sergeant Wall.

The day concluded with high-energy athletic competitions. Squadron 110 secured a thrilling, half-point victory in a tactical game of Capture the Flag, while Yankee Flight dominated the courts in the ATS basketball tournament.

None of this would be possible without our outstanding Logistics Staff, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our cadets fed and operations running smoothly. As Chief Ernst reminded everyone today, the support staff is the backbone of this encampment.

Happy Father’s Day to the dedicated fathers within the Civil Air Patrol community.

Today, we extend our sincere gratitude to our Senior Member fathers who are volunteering their time this week to mentor and develop the next generation of leaders. We also recognize the fathers of our cadets supporting their young leaders from home; your encouragement is vital to their success.

Serving at an Encampment requires a profound commitment to excellence, service, and sacrifice. We salute the fathers who lead by example, instill our core value of integrity, and guide our cadets toward reaching new heights.

Cadets and Senior Members descended on the Green Mountain State from 15 different states for Green Mountain Academy’s first day yesterday!
The Green Mountain Academy brings together a diverse and motivated group of future leaders. Day 0 was all about preparation. Cadets received their handbooks and PT uniforms, met their staff, signed their honor agreements, and completed vital safety briefings. Cadets had a great first day that set the theme for the rest of the week.

Here’s to an incredible week at the Green Mountain Academy. On to Day 1!
