VABVI Presents: HomeShare Vermont

VABVI is delighted to host HomeShare Vermont for an informative evening about creating connections through a unique and affordable housing option.
HomeShare Vermont has been matching people who have room in their homes with those seeking an affordable place to live for over 40 years. They conduct background and reference checks and then help create compatible matches. HomeShare hosts can ask for rent and/or help with household tasks, such as cooking, yardwork, housekeeping, snow removal, pet care or running errands. For guests, this is an affordable alternative to renting.
Come learn about this special program and the many ways it connects Vermonters with support, resources, and housing around our state.

The Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired would like to thank Stewart's Shops for their generous $500.00 donation to support our SMART Program! Support from foundations and donors like Stewart's Shops enable VABVI to continue to provide integral services to Vermonters who are blind and visually impaired.

VABVI launched the SMART Device Training Program for clients ages 55+ in January 2018 to train clients on both standard application and adaptive software and hardware. These assistive devices included screen print enlargers, speech and Braille input and output devices, and tablet and smartphone technology. The SMART Program helps our clients to combat social isolation-one of the primary challenges for adults with visual impairment. The SMART Program enables our clients to connect not only to their friends and family, but also to the world available online.
