Seasonal Maintenance Position Available

The Village is currently accepting applications for a Seasonal Maintenance Employee position.

Applications are available on the Village website. Hard copies may be obtained from the Village Clerk during regular business hours.

Position Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver's license
Available to work 20–40 hours per week
Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds
Must be available for on-call duties as needed
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Janitorial and general maintenance work
W**d trimming and grounds maintenance
Street maintenance and repair
Cemetery maintenance
Other duties as assigned
Position may potentially lead to part-time or full-time employment

Completed applications must be submitted no later than June 18

The Village received a call from AES about a scheduled outage for Thursday June 4th at 8pm. The outage should last 5 to 6 hours. This outage will only be for the Northwest portion of the Village. The affected area will be West of 41 and North of 42.

The South Charleston Police Department is hosting Party in the Park for families in our community this Friday, June 5, from 5- 9 PM. There will be lots to do for all ages – the Splash Pad will be open and water slides and bounces houses will be available for kids to enjoy. Also, some sweet treats available for kids! There will be several Food Trucks if you would like to purchase dinner at the park. Come enjoy a night of family fun!!!

Ofc Nicholas Thompson has completed his Crisis Intervention Team training. CIT training is a 40-hr long training that helps our department to better recognize and respond to residents suffering from a mental health crisis or a behavioral health-relatated situation.

These training helps our department to respond to all calls with the knowledge to help in many ways.

"Door Kick Challenge" Trend

Juveniles are kicking or banging on random residential doors at night for TikTok videos. This is vandalism, not a harmless prank. If damages property and frightens families.

If you see any suspicious activity or have doorbell footage we ask that you call the Clark County Non-Emergency dispatch number at 937-328-2560.

We would also like to remind all Parents of the Curfew for the Village:

135.29 CURFEW.
No person 17 years of age or less (under 18) shall be or remain in or upon the streets within the village, at night during the period beginning at 12:00 a.m. (midnight) and ending at 6:00 a.m. Friday through Saturday and at 10:00 p.m. and ending at 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.
