Greetings Residents:
Tonight, August 2nd, is National Night Out! National Night Out is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. The South Coatesville Police Department will be taking part in this event by canvassing the neighbors between 5pm and 6pm tonight and serving Rita's Italian Ice (compliments of yours truly) to our resident children. Since we will also be partnering with the Coatesville City Police Department, we may not have time to hit every street in the Borough. Therefore, if you have children, please text us your street name and we will do our best to hit your street. Look for the "Coatesville Police Chilling With The Community Truck" between 5pm and 6pm.
Have a SAFE and Enjoyable Summer!

Greeting Residents:
We have received numerous complaints and inquiries regarding loose dogs. These two dogs (pictured) have been traveling together and have been seen in the areas of West Chester Road, Overhill Road and Montclair Avenues. Apparently, they have been very good at eluding police. Each time we receive a call, we are unable to locate them. We have been attempting to ascertain the owner of these dogs. If you happen to know who may own these dogs, please let us know ASAP. If you happen to see these dogs wandering in your neighbor, please contact our police department at the time they are seen. If you are unable to reach us on station, we are likely out on patrol. If you do not receive an answer on our police station phone, (610)384-3500, please contact the Chester County Police Radio Non-Emergency line at (610)383-7000. They will immediately dispatch the on-duty officer to the area.
Thank you for your assistance!

Greetings Residents,
One of our residents came across a kitten in the area of Garnett Terrance and Montclair Avenue. The resident did not want to leave the kitten outside for fear that it would not survive. The kitten, which appears to be approximately 2 months old, is safe with the resident at this time.
Anyone who may have lost a kitten, or who the owner may be, please contact our police department. We will then put you into contact with the resident holding the kitten.
Thanks everyone!

Olin community relations
We would like to thank Dawn Juhas for send us this great video of Ofc Olin. Ofc Olin is performing community relations by playing soccer with the neighborhood children. We want today's youth to know that Police Officers are here to help and to not be afraid to talk to us. We'll gonna have to say the kids won this game!!! Who says that SCPD doesn't know how to have a little fun with kids!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. Nothing is more important than keeping your children healthy and happy, and raising them right so they can be successful in life. It's not easy, but thank you for all you do. Special shout out to all Law Enforcement moms. You all have an extra special place in our hearts.

We began our day at Olivet United Methodist Church for photos with Santa, breakfast and some festive entertainment. We thank the church for the use of their beautiful space, Chester County Sheriff's Office's Deputy James Audette for playing the saxophone and South Coatesville Police's Chief Kevin Pierce for sharing his wonderful voice as he sang festive songs.
After announcements, the kids were loaded onto a bus provided by Krapf School Bus where a joyful driver greeted the kids and safely navigated their parade-style journey to Parkesburg Wal-Mart, surrounded by dozens of first responder vehicles. We thank Constable Tyrone Harley and The City of Coatesville Parks & Recreation Chairperson, Ajene Livingston, for serving as chaperones. Upon arrival, the kids were teamed up with an officer that served as their es**rt and shopping consultant. It was a great opportunity to spend one-on-one time with the youth, share some laughs and have important conversation. It was nice to see so many kids thinking of others as they made gift selections. We thank Walmart for all of their support, including a significant discount, wrapping supplies and use of their breakroom. The staff was amazing and helped make the program enjoyable for the participants, officers and volunteers.
Once again this year, Witmer Public Safety Group was our presenting sponsor and we sincerely thank the employees of WPSG and the Witmer Family for their tremendous support. Their desire to help make kids smile and assist us in building constructive relationships between community and police is incredible. We also thank the Coatesville Police Officers Union and the several anonymous community members that helped support the program by anonymously providing financial contributions.
Having help from our 'friends in blue' is always appreciated. We thank Caln Township Police Department, South Coatesville Police, West Brandywine Police Department, West Sadsbury Township Police, Pennsylvania State Police, Sadsbury Township Police Department, Valley Township Police Department, Chester County Sheriff's Office and West Caln Township Police Department for joining us.
We thank Helen from Coatesville Youth Initiative for serving as our photographer and capturing a variety of moments that we're able to share. We also thank Chris Hutelmyer from Arts and Athletics Club for volunteering to chronicle the program on video.
Most importantly, we thank the youth (and their families) that we had an opportunity to connect with yesterday. It may have only been a four-hour event but we hope that it leads to a lifetime of mutual respect and ongoing constructive relationships with the youth and families we serve.
Modena Rd remains a single lane near Union St. Repair work is on hold until PennDot receives clearance from the DEP.
Baker St. - we are awaiting info from a contractor and are hoping to be working there next week.
Woodland Ave remains closed to through traffic. Due to the extent of repairs needed, it is likely to remain closed thru the winter. The road is not safe to travel on in the barricaded area. The road continues to deteriorate and a sinkhole could open at anytime. DO NOT MOVE THE BARRICADES. We are asking South Coatesville Police to patrol more frequently and cite anyone caught traveling through the closed off section of road.
Come join us and have a wonderful day with our hosts: the South Coatesville Police and Deliverance Church!!
Please consider being a spectator, or race participant, as a show of support for Chesco’s first responders.
