We want to commend Chief Erick Turcotte at Dartmouth Fire District 2 for keeping the life safety of all Dartmouth residents as a top priority. He has taken steps to keep the Rescue 2 ambulance as close to the residents it serves as possible. When it was decided several months ago the ambulance would no longer be allowed to be stationed at the Padanaram Firehouse, the ambulance service began looking for alternative housing to stay close to where the majority of Rescue 2’s emergency calls. That is when Chief Turcotte stepped in and worked with the management at Stat Southcoast to make the following temporary arrangements: Rescue 2 will be housed with Rescue 3 at the Russells Mills Fire Station until their new “home”on Dartmouth St. is ready for them. Life safety is the absolute top priority of the Fire Service and keeping an ambulance close to the people it serves is the best way to keep people safe. Well done Chief!
