This week, the Florida Guardian ad Litem Office joined partners from across Florida at the Florida Fathers and Faith Symposium hosted by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice in Orlando.

We appreciated the opportunity to share information about our mission, connect with community leaders, faith-based organizations, and professionals who are committed to helping children and families across our state.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to learn more about our mission and the many ways to get involved. To learn how you can make a difference in the life of a child, visit

Recently the Florida Guardian ad Litem Office had the privilege to attend the One Voice for Volusia Health & Human Services Summit. This gathering brought our community together to network and learn from over 400 professionals in the health and human services sector. The Florida Guardian ad Litem Office helps connect the children we represent with resources within their communities that support their safety, stability, and overall well-being. We were also able to share with attendees about the difference we make for abused, abandoned and neglected children.

Thank you to One Voice for Volusia, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, for helping our community connect.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to make a difference in the lives of local children, now is the perfect time to join us. Volunteer with the Florida Guardian ad Litem Office and help bring support, stability, and encouragement to Florida’s most vulnerable children.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
Often, children who are abused, neglected, or abandoned face significant hurdles, including mental health challenges. Consistent, caring adults in their lives help them know they are not alone and support access to the services they need to promote healing.
It is a time to focus on providing education and supporting those with mental health conditions. One of the most important tools is connection—connection to resources, to community, and to a network of support.

Are you looking to make an impact on your community? Though every child has a Guardian ad Litem attorney and child welfare professional, not every child has that vital third member – a Guardian ad Litem Volunteer.

Right now, a smart, funny little girl in Putnam County is looking for a community member to be her Guardian ad Litem Volunteer. She is adventurous and talkative. Her favorite activities are playing outside, walking in the neighborhood, and watching cartoons.

You can make a difference for her and other children waiting for their Guardian ad Litem Volunteer by joining the Florida Guardian ad Litem Office team today.

May is Foster Care Awareness Month.

Every day, children across Florida who have experienced abuse, abandonment, or neglect rely on caring adults to help support them through difficult circumstances. Foster families play an important role in providing stability and a safe place during this time.

Child welfare involves many individuals and organizations, each with a distinct role in the process. Throughout it, the focus remains on helping children navigate challenging circumstances and move toward safe, stable, and permanent outcomes.

The Florida Guardian ad Litem Office extends its gratitude to those who step forward to support children in care and remains committed to representing their legal interests both in court and in the community.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Throughout the month, pinwheel gardens have appeared across our communities. These pinwheels serve as a visible reminder of our shared commitment to strengthening families and creating safe, healthy environments where children can thrive. They are symbols of hope.

Each day, the Florida Guardian ad Litem Office works to support, advocate for and represent the legal interests of children who have experienced abuse, abandonment, or neglect. Children with Guardians ad Litem are less likely to re-enter the child welfare system and more likely to achieve a safe, permanent home.

While April is coming to a close, our commitment does not end. The work to support children and strengthen communities continues every day.
