South County EMS Regional EMS department serving the towns of Deerfield, Sunderland, and Whately, Massachusetts.

South County EMS is the first regional, municipal-based emergency medical "third service" system in Massachusetts. Operating out of the southern Franklin County area, South County EMS is the primary agency for providing emergent and non-emergent EMS related services at the ALS level through full-time and call/volunteer staffing to the towns of Deerfield, Sunderland, and Whately, Massachusetts. The

primary service area of 70 square miles is home to approximately 13,000 residents, and includes major tourist and recreation attractions, multiple boarding schools, large industrial operations and significant intermodal transportation corridors.

This afternoon we gathered at our station to recognize Tim Drumgool’s appointment as the new South County EMS Chief.

Tim grew up in Deerfield and is a Frontier graduate. Tim continued his education at Springfield College where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Medical Services Management. Prior to the inception of South County EMS, Tim worked for Deerfield EMS and was a significant contributor to the growth and development of our regional service. Tim is not solely an experienced paramedic, he also collaborates with partner organizations for emergency planning, community outreach and facilitates professional development.

We are excited to welcome Tim back to South County EMS as our next leader. Together, we look forward to continuing to provide professional services to our community under his leadership.
