The South Elgin Police Department Community Action Team will host a meeting for residents and business owners to hear more about establishing neighborhood watch programs and to discuss topics such as speeding concerns, the new e-transportation rules going into effect January 1, 2027, parking ordinances and more.

Please join us at the Public Safety Center, 50 S Water Street, Thursday, September 17 from 6-8pm.

🌡️ HEAT ALERT: September 2 - Please put bins out early!

Due to Wednesday's forecasted heat, Groot will be starting collection routes earlier than usual to help protect the safety of their drivers. Residents are asked to place their garbage and recycling bins at the curb the night before their scheduled pickup day to ensure collection. Thank you for your cooperation! 🚛

Among the recommended precautions during this heat: drink water, take cool showers, limit outdoor activities during peak heat and remember our splash pad is open and available through September 6 from 11am-7pm (and 10am-7pm on Sat/Sun).

🚌✨ What a fantastic day on Route 66!

Our Active Adult Route 66 Trip was a huge success! We couldn’t have asked for better weather or a better group to enjoy this with. We traveled along America’s most legendary highway, exploring vintage gas stations, quirky roadside attractions, and fascinating pieces of its 100-year history. It was a fun and memorable way to step back in time! 🛣️❤️
