This Memorial Day, the members of South Elgin & Countryside Fire Protection District pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. ❤️
As we gather with family and friends, let us never forget the true meaning of the day and the freedoms we enjoy because of their courage and dedication.

We also extend our gratitude to all the veteran and active military members for their service.

Catching up on important events in the District! 🚒🚑

On March 10, 2026 at the monthly trustee meeting President Cornelissen swore in the District’s newest full-time FF/PM, Benjamin Koloczaski, in front of family, friends, and fellow firefighters.

Ben began his fire service career with the Oglesby Fire Protection District as a paid-on-call firefighter. He earned his paramedic license from Illinois Valley Community College and later worked as a paramedic for an ambulance service in the LaSalle/Peru area.

Please join us in congratulating Ben as he embarks on his full-time fire service career and begins his probationary year with the District. We’re excited to see all he will accomplish as he serves our community. Congratulations, Ben! 🚒👏
