The Friends of the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library Since the opening of the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library, we have become a vital and integral part of the crew that brings you your library resources.

The Friends of the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library (FOHWPL) was created to support the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library. We fund all museum passes that are offered to patrons of the Hamilton-Wenham Library. We sponsor special events and programs offered at the library for both adults and children, and provide for the purchase of special equipment, hardware and furniture. Through membership contributi

ons, donations of books, and purchases of those books at our sales, we are able to provide the extra resources and improvements that make our library the special place that it is! Come join your friends and neighbors and feel a true sense of pride and accomplishment as we make a difference in our community. We welcome you and your ideas!

Stop by the fall book sale to stock up on books and support the Library! The Friends of the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library sponsor many library programs, and your support helps make their program sponsorship possible.

Please note that there are no Donation Days during the month of September. Donations of books and other materials cannot be accepted during this time. Stay tuned for details on future Donation Days.

*Patrons may purchase a membership at the door on Member Night to join The Friends and enjoy early access to the book sale!

Monday August 24th is the last used book donation day at the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library as the Friends prepares for our upcoming Fall Book Sale, September 18th - 22nd! Volunteers will be on hand Monday from 10:15 AM to 4 PM to accept your used books and DVDs in good condition at the meeting room entrance at the library. Thank you for your ongoing support throughout this 25th anniversary fundraising campaign - our next Giveback event will be at POST Hamilton on October 8th. More info to come!

Please note that Monday, August 24, 10:15am-4:00pm is the last opportunity to donate books & DVDs before our fall book sale.

We will resume accepting donations in October.

The Friends of the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library will be accepting donations on the following Mondays: August 3, 10, 17, & 24, 10:15am-4:00pm.

You are welcome to donate up to 4 bags of books and DVDs in good condition. If you have a larger donation please email the Friends at [email protected] to discuss before bringing your items to the Library.

Textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, CDs, cassette tapes, VHS, vinyl records, puzzles, games, toys, and damaged books are not accepted.

Free faxing services will be available at the Library beginning on August 1!

📠 Patrons can enjoy free faxing for up to 20 pages per day.
📠 Larger jobs may be limited at staff discretion.
📠 Commercial or bulk faxing is not permitted.

If you have questions, please visit the Circulation Desk for staff assistance.

The Library will undergo system maintenance on Friday, July 24 at 12:00am and be down for approximately 8 hours. During downtime, the following services will be unavailable:

- Enterprise Virtual Catalog
- eCard and eRenew services
- MVLC Mobile App
- Checkouts and Holds in OverDrive/Libby*

* Patrons should be able to access items in Libby that they have already checked out and downloaded, but won’t be able to borrow or place holds on new items. Additional disruptions with logging into Libby or the OverDrive website may occur.

Beginning in July, Hamilton-Wenham Public Library has set a monthly budget cap for our Hoopla account.

Patrons will still be able to borrow up to four items per month while budget is available, but once the monthly budget cap is met, there will be no more borrows available until the next month. Patrons should receive a message indicating when the budget cap has been met.

This transition allows the Library to continue to allow access to Hoopla while allocating budget for other digital resources.

Hoopla is a digital media service that allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your computer or device of choice. Access this resource using your Hamilton-Wenham library card and library PIN number or password.
