After recent rain and snow, it might seem like a good time to burn brush piles. Be aware that warm temperatures and heavy vegetation mean brush piles can smolder and reignite on windy days long after you think they’re out.

If you can’t guarantee there are no remaining embers, please wait until green-up to burn your brush piles. 🔥Help prevent that spark from becoming a wildfire.

You probably use a lithium-ion battery every day and aren’t even aware of it! These are the batteries inside your phone and laptop. If used improperly they can overheat and lead to an explosion or fire. SCFD 1 would like to remind you to only plug your chargers into a wall outlet, NOT an extension cord.
