Due to inclement weather, District 205 students and staff will not travel to school on Wednesday, February 2. Students will receive instruction and complete classwork electronically via Google Classroom using their Chromebook. Also, there is no COVID-19 testing on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

Good morning Dist 205...
This is Lynette Jones, a concerned parent of a Thornton Township High School Senior. I am contacting you today for information. Any and all information available... Where are the senior pictures, will we be refunded for paid activities, will there be any type of virtual commencement ceremony? These students have worked hard and they deserve some answers. I know most are upset and afraid. With uncertainty of their future hanging in the balance, they need a little reassurance and some answers.
To whom it may concern,
I think graduation should be live streamed... The principal should stand at the podium in the auditorium and call each student's name, while displaying their photo on a large projector screen. There is technology that would allow students and faculty that have personal speeches, remarks, or acceptance of special awards to join the live stream at their moment. It would be too much to have each student join as their name is being called, however a large photo of the graduate would be fine. We still have not received or heard anything about graduation photos, so this would also be a nice surprise.
Just A Thought...
We have to cope in this Covid’ world! Better safe than sorry! #SayHomePLEASE
