🚰 FIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING PROGRAM BEGINS JUNE 2 🚰

The Village of South Jacksonville will begin its annual Fire Hydrant Flushing Program on Tuesday, June 2.

Hydrant flushing is an important maintenance process that helps ensure hydrants are operating properly and assists in flushing water mains to maintain water quality throughout the Village.

📅 Schedule
• Tuesday through Friday
• 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• No flushing will occur after 2:00 PM

💧 Water Remains Safe
Residents may notice temporary discoloration of water during the flushing process. If this occurs:

✔️ Avoid using water until it clears
✔️ Run cold water from a bathtub or outdoor spigot for several minutes
✔️ Avoid washing clothes until the water is clear

If clothing becomes stained due to rust or discoloration, contact the Village at 217-245-4803 for rust remover to help remove stains.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as Public Works completes this important maintenance program.

The park and bathrooms are now open as we get ready for summer season operations. ☀️💦

Opening Day will be Friday, May 22 from 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM! Bring the kids out to cool off, play, and kick off summer with us! 🌊😎

♻️🚛 UPDATE: The Hardin Garage gates are back OPEN for the Village Clean-Up event!

Due to the overwhelming turnout, dumpsters are filling quickly and the gates may close early today if dumpsters reach capacity.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and support in making this event such a success! 💚

Small amounts of construction materials, appliances, batteries, metal goods, furniture, and boxed/sealed glassware.

❌ Not Accepted:
Televisions, computer monitors, yard waste, paint, tires, bricks/concrete, or hazardous waste.
