As we wrap up the week, we want to again thank the Jacksonville Citizens Police Academy Alumni for bringing the guys lunch and dinner for each shift. We also had some other goodies brought in by people from the community. Also, thank you to the other local law enforcement agencies who help us protect our town.

FYI…Snow Emergency

The Village of South Jacksonville, Illinois, has declared a snow emergency from Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 7 AM until Monday, January 26, 2026, at 7 AM.

This emergency includes specific snow emergency routes on East and West Greenwood, East Vandalia, South Diamond, Lincoln, and Hardin Avenues.

**Snow Emergency Procedures:**
- Do not park on snow emergency routes.
- Move any vehicles parked on snow emergency routes.
- Avoid unnecessary travel.
- Drive carefully and reduce your speed.
- Maintain a safe distance between vehicles.
- Yield to snowplows and emergency vehicles.
- Carry an emergency kit in your vehicle.
- Stay informed about road conditions and emergency announcements.

**Snow Emergency Tips:**
Residents are encouraged to avoid parking on the streets altogether whenever possible. Those clearing private sidewalks and parking lots are reminded not to push snow into public streets.

Better late than never. Law Enforcement appreciation day was Friday,January 9th. We had AT&T bring some snacks and water and a residence brought some delicious cookies today! Thank you everyone💙
