MARK YOUR CALENDAR: Our annual May Breakfast fundraiser is coming up! Meet up with friends and family as we kick off the summer season on Bliss Road in Snug Harbor this Sunday from 7AM to 11AM. $12 for adults, $6 for children, and as always 5 and under are FREE! All proceeds benefit the Snug Harbor Volunteer Fire Company. Meet our wonderful firefighters, enjoy our open house, and come away with something excellent from our raffle!

Members of the Union Fire District are mourning the news of the passing of Hilding “Hilly” Munson, President and past Captain of the Snug Harbor Volunteer Fire Company.

Hilly was the heart and soul, not only of Snug Harbor Fire, but of Snug Harbor itself. His lifelong dedication to public service is a testament to the ideals of community, empathy, and citizenship. Though he was battling illness, only 10 days ago Hilly presided over the SHVFC monthly business meeting from home via Zoom, where he was unanimously voted President once more. This past November the Elks Lodge was standing room only with those who wished to recognize his contribution to this town and its people. 

Calling Hours will be Tuesday January 21st from 16:00 to 19:00

Funeral Service will be Wednesday January 22nd at 11:00

Burial to follow at Saint Francis Cemetery, George Schaeffer Street.

Today stations 5,7 and 8 were dispatched to Green Hill beach for swimmers in distress. Unit 5 and engine 16 responded with four members including 2 rescue swimmers. Upon our arrival at the scene all members were out of the water and accounted for.
