Today's weather forecast indicates a high likelihood of thunderstorms and flash flooding. We advise closely monitoring weather and lake conditions, as thunderstorms can rapidly alter lake conditions and create hazardous boating situations. In the event of a thunderstorm, promptly seek shelter or a safe location near shore and ensure you are wearing a life jacket.

Know Before You Go……

Fourth of July weekend is quickly approaching and the Marine Unit wants you to have everything in place to make sure it is a great experience out on our lake.

Things to consider:

* Time - Give yourself plenty of time - Getting through town, launching your vessel and parking
* Have a plan - Know the winds and weather, have plenty of food and warm clothing
* Check Safety Equipment - PFDs - have enough life vests, check for fit and have them readily accessible…. Sound Device, fire extinguisher, and throwable Type IV cushion
* Navigation Lights - If you plan is to be out on the lake for the fireworks, please check to be sure all your navigation lights are working
* Sober Operator - Don’t drink and operate
Charge electronics - Charge your flashlights and cell phones

Happy 4th
Your SLTPD Marine One Team!!!
