South Lake Tahoe Library The South Lake Tahoe Library is located in South Lake Tahoe, CA. We are a part of the El Dorado Count Welcome to the South Lake Tahoe Library.

We offer books in audio, digital, and paper formats as well as, DVD's, CD's, wireless internet, and public computers. We host free early literacy programs and community events for anyone interested. Our friendly and helpful staff are prepared to assist you with any questions you might have.

Thanks to a generous gift from Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe, we are offering more ways for teens to win during the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge! We’ll have five teen mystery jars this summer, just for ages 12-18. Guess how many items are in the jar without going over for the chance to win an amazing prize!

The first teen mystery jar is out now! Guess how many bookmarks are in the jar for a chance to win a gift card for Cuppa Tahoe! Visit the library or our social media pages to find out when each new jar is revealed.

The Friends of the Library will host a pop up book sale at the library June 8-13 featuring large format (coffee table) books on all topics - art, travel, graphic design - if it's a big book, it has to go! They also have an extensive collection of cook books looking for a new kitchen. $5 a bag (or armload?), this is a deal that can't be beat! As always, there will be kids books too- grow that home library and get started on the Summer Reading Challenge!
