Unit 1 crews responded to I71 SB at the 27/7 for a report of a multi vehicle crash. On arrival crews found a semi that had collided with another semi then ran off the road and jackknifed. Fortunately no injuries were reported however the recently filled Diesel settle tank ruptured causing a large amount of Diesel fuel to spill on the roadway and in the ditch line. Crews from Deerfield Township along with greater Cincinnati Haz-Mat were requested to the scene to assist with preventing the fuel from getting into waterways. The EPA is on scene. Big thanks to DTFR for the assistance. Deerfield Township Fire Rescue (Warren County, Ohio)

Crews have recently participated in several training opportunities, including a very chilly water rescue training alongside our area mutual aid departments, as well as completing a driver check-off for our newest full-time member.
With summer quickly approaching, we look forward to many more days of training and continuing to sharpen our skills. Thank you to Deerfield Township Fire Rescue (Warren County, Ohio) for the invite to a great refresher and learning experience during water rescue training.

Today marks a major milestone for two of our own — Firefighter Cody Martin and Firefighter John Joerger — who have officially graduated from the Butler Tech Paramedic Program!

This program demands tremendous sacrifice and commitment. Over the past year, they’ve completed more than 1,000 hours of classroom instruction and in-person clinical training — all while continuing to serve our community. That kind of dedication does not go unnoticed.

While they still have their National Registry exam ahead of them, today represents the most challenging and time-intensive portion of their journey. Completing paramedic school is no small feat, and both Cody and John have earned every bit of this accomplishment.

Union Township Fire Rescue is proud of you both. Your hard work strengthens our department and enhances the level of care we provide to the residents of our community every single day.

Please join us in congratulating Firefighter Martin and Firefighter Joerger on this incredible achievement!

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our retired Fire Chief Fred LaFollette. Chief LaFollette served his community for over 43 years including the last 27 years of his career as the fire chief. He diligently served Salem Twp and the Village of Morrow in many ways.
He was a mentor and friend to so many, none more than both chiefs who have succeeded him in leading the department that he loved. Chief LaFollette led our department through many trying times and the organization that serves today is a testimony to his excellent leadership and service.
Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to countless people from all walks of life. He was great blessing to all that called him Chief and friend. Please join us in praying for his family. Rest in His peace, Chief. We love you and we've got it from here.
