We invite families to the library for evening of board games on Wednesday, September 9. We will have a wide variety out to play, such as Sorry, Battleship, Uno, Moose in the House, Monopoly, Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, and more.

Adult are invited for their own game night on Thursday, September 10 to play new favorites & old classics to try like Panda Royale, Point City, Guillotine, Sushi Go, Grand Prix, Munchkin, Citadels and more.

Both game nights begin at 6:30pm. Please register so we know how many people to expect.

The library will be closed this Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 7 for Labor Day weekend.

We will reopen on Tuesday, September 8 for our normal hours, and we will be open on Sundays from 1-4pm.

Join us for a puzzle swap! From September 1 - 11, bring your complete 500+ piece puzzles to the front desk at the library to exchange for tickets.

On Saturday September 12, use the tickets you've earned from turning in puzzles to pick out some new ones! The swap is open to patrons who have turned in puzzles over the last two weeks until 3:30pm, when it opens to anyone who wants some.

We want to thank Clint Symons, the President at the Michigan War Dog Memorial in South Lyon for coming to the library last night to speak about the historic roles of military war dogs, as well as the legacy of the Michigan War Dog Memorial.

After the presentation we drafted condolence letters to law enforcement officers across the country who have recently lost their retired, working, or KIA K9 partners.

We had such a blast hosting a Community Mural Painting event this past Friday and Saturday! The mural we painted on showcases native Michigan plants and animals and highlights elements of reading, as well as the library's new logo at the center. The artwork was created by Grand Rapids artist Rhiannan Sibbald Studio, and her masterpiece was turned into a 14 x 7 paint-by-number project by Paintillio.

A huge thank you to both Rhiannan and Paintillio who were fabulous to work with and made our vision for this project come to life. We also want to thank everyone who came to paint - our staff is thrilled to have such a beautiful and collaborative work of art at the library!

After the mural is coated with a marine grade varnish to protect the paint, it will be permanently installed near the outdoor musical instruments at the north end of the parking lot.
