Students in Ms. Checkers, second grade class at Blakewood went on a virtual field trip to the Wisconsin Humane Society. They learned how to treat and care for animals. They listened to a book about how to safely meet animals and how to treat them with respect. They also learned how the WHS helps animals in our community and were able to take a virtual tour of Adoption Avenue. They saw animals waiting for new homes, and met a furry friend named Ace. Thank you Wisconsin Humane Society! #SMWay

Saw on the news, that South Milwaukee students are staging a protest to open up the school. Good for them. I support the need to go back to school. I know SM schools will take all the precautions necessary to get our kids in school as soon as able. Its time.

Where is lunch pick up! No one was at the usual pick up location

Comical. South Milwaukee School District goes back to school this week for Hybrid Learning. Lunch on Tuesday and Thursday: Sausage Sticks Cheese Stick Goldfish Crackers Celery I’m not kidding. That’s lunch the that people pay for.

Can I ask a question I'm thinking other middle school parents may wonder, or already know... Why are grades entering one door in morning but exiting a different door in afternoon after another grade already used for entering? Shouldn't the same grade use the same door for entering and exiting?

Today, Monday October 5th, from 4-7pm at the Cousins in SM it is Donation Night for Blakewood Elementary! Skip cooking for tonight and grab Cousins!

This was what was shared and proposed to families and school board members in August. What is this new model we are going with? 3 steps backwards for elementary students. Very disappointed!

Can you explain where you are getting the burden number for Milwaukee county at 91.28? The state dashboard lists the number at 171.6 for Milwaukee County, an increase from the burden rate last week.

Today started a change in the school schedule. Longer days now. Why do they need such long gaps during the day? Lunch is way too long now too. The children will lose interest during the wait times!
