South Orange Democratic Committee The South Orange Democratic Committee (SODC) is a diverse and progressive organization that functions as the grassroots level of the Democratic Party.

Composed of 24 district leaders, SODC is responsible for operations to elect democrats at the county, state, and federal level. These operations include registering new voters, educating voters, and GOTV (Get Out the Vote) initiatives before and on election day. SODC is a municipal party under the umbrella of the Essex County Democratic Committee, which is under the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, which itself is a chapter of the Democratic National Committee.

Say hello to our recently-elected Executive Committee for the 2026-2028 term. Officers are chosen by the District Leaders, who are in turn elected by their neighbors to represent them on South Orange and Essex County Democratic Committees.

Officers are ready to work with the full committee to build on the strong foundation created by past leadership and to continue growing our visibility throughout the community. We are also committed to creating a more transparent and accountable Democratic Party at every level of governance.
