Monday night at our monthly training , we invited the  Cincinnatus Fire Department  to join in some of the fun. This month we focused on hose advancement, pump operations, tanker, shuttle operations, & portable pond set up and placement. Are interior members got to practice hose advancement through a simulated course marked out with cones which they had to progress through without knocking any cones over. At the end of each simulated course, there were two cones set up simulating fire, which they then had to knock over with their hose. They worked in groups of three which they rotated around, allowing each person to work on each position. While the interior members were working on that corse other members were refreshing on pump operations and water shuttle.

A Tornado Watch is issued when weather conditions could lead to severe storms and tornadoes. Come join us today starting at 9am and visit with your local first responders. We will be at the firehouse with thing to see plus, we will be out back cooking up some tasty chicken halves which should be ready around 11am. Come check out our trucks and take some photos in them with the kiddos. We will also have a raffle table set up to win some great prizes. The Chenango County Sheriffs will also be there with there Child ID table set up. Come on out and see the rest of the activities going on here at the 17th annual Fishing & Heritage Event.

We would like to congratulate two of our members for there completion of IFO (Interior firefighting operations) 

Olin Comfort & Carl McCann put in another 50+ hours to sharpen skills to again help serve our community in a higher capacity. If you see them around give them a big thank you and congrats.

South Otselic Fire & EMS 2026 Pool filling season has started. Email us at [email protected] to set up a time for your pool fill this year. This year cost is $100.00 per tanker load and our tanker holds 2,000 gallons. Please keep in mind that we have a small group to do this, so pool fills will be done when we have the people available.
