Flotilla 7-2 was proud to host a Labor Day Brunch for the hardworking crew of Station South Padre Island. From brisket and sausage to a full spread of desserts, it was our small way of saying THANK YOU to those who stand the watch, day in and day out.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve those who serve—and for the camaraderie we continue to build between active duty, reserve, and auxiliary members.

Flotilla 7-2 was honored to be present today at the United States Coast Guard Station South Padre Island Change of Command Ceremony.

We proudly joined fellow Coast Guard members, Auxiliary, and the community in recognizing the outstanding leadership of LT Shane Gunderson and welcoming LT Ryan Sexton as the new Commanding Officer.

As always, we stand ready to support the mission—Semper Paratus!

Flotilla 7-2 Celebrates National Safe Boating Week at Bayside Marine!

A big thank you to Daniel Cortez and the team at Bayside Marine for hosting today’s NSBW Customer Appreciation Event! Bayside Marine is a proud Program Visitor location and long-time supporter of Flotilla 081-07-02’s Recreational Boating Safety mission.

We had a fantastic turnout with community members and local law enforcement, sharing boating safety materials, engaging conversations, and great food! Events like this help us build stronger, safer boating communities.

Honored to be at Isla Blanca with the U.S. Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary, promoting boating safety and supporting the Scouting America USA’s kayak race. A great day of teamwork, education, and fun—keeping our waters safe and our youth engaged!

We reviewed training progress, discussed plans for National Safe Boating Week (May 16–23), and recognized several outstanding members.

Division 7 Training Weekend – April 4–6, 2025 | South Padre Island

Flotilla 7-2 was honored to host a great weekend of training and fellowship!

Friday’s shrimp & chicken boil set the tone for a strong Saturday of required workshops including TCT, OPS, TCO, Instructor, and Marine Safety.

We capped it off with an awards banquet at Louie’s Backyard. Though weather canceled Sunday’s on-water training, the weekend was a success.

Flotilla 7-2-SPI of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, in partnership with The Sportsman, hosted a full-day Boat America course for local boaters ages 13 and up. Attendees received certified instruction based on USCG and Texas Parks & Wildlife materials, covering everything from boat handling to safety laws and emergency preparedness.

A heartfelt thank you to Christi Romero and the entire team at The Sportsman for generously providing the venue, refreshments, and incredible hospitality throughout the day.

We are proud to continue promoting safety on the water and serving our community—Semper Paratus!
