A true American hero, Cesar Chavez was a civil rights, Latino and farm labor leader; a genuinely religious and spiritual figure; a community organizer and social entrepreneur; a champion of militant nonviolent social change; and a crusader for the environment and consumer rights.

Ella Baker Arranged peaceful sit-ins and collaborating with other great leaders like MLK during the civil rights movement. She was inspired by the resilient stories of life as a slave, told to her by her grandmother, that moved her forward with purpose in life. Determined to bring justice and equality to America, Baker organized pivotal events that helped put a stop to segregation and Jim Crow laws.

Yesterday South Pasadena Police Chief Joe Ortiz invited residents to come to a prayer ceremony for Police and Fire Department employees. In attendance a chapter from a group called “The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property” (TFP) would be there to provide blessings to the Men and Women of the departments. If you go to TFP’s website you will see they are against the BLM movement, against the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, and believes peace will come after war. TFP has even said Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg “contributed to so many important decisions that will affect America negatively for decades to come.” One is left to wonder how a Police Chief a leader in our community would allow a group with negative views to bestow blessings on the city employees of South Pasadena. Although the event has since been canceled it is important to know our Police Chief that has the power to research the people he invites to our city to bless officers, was ok with a group such at TFP to come.

The Louisville Metro Police Department has charged 1 of the 3 officers involved with the murder of Breonna Taylor with “Wanton Endangerment”; meaning charged for endangering innocent bystanders lives, and using his weapon inappropriately. Nothing else. This means all officers involved with the murder of Breonna Taylor will not be penalized for firing over 30 shots into a woman’s apartment during a no knock warrant. This is not enough to say Breonna has received proper full justice, and is sickening that a system that a system that was supposed to be built for the people are continuing to be against the people. We must get out and show that this is unacceptable behavior in our government and we won’t put up with it any longer.

Please join us today at 3PM on the Corner of Fair Oaks and Mission st. To show support for the justice of Breonna Taylor. Bring water, bring a mask and SAY HER Name!

RGB. Ruth Bader Ginsburg a Supreme Court Judge that fought for woman’s rights has passed away. Some of her biggest accomplishments is stand up for a woman’s right to abortion, and was the only female court justice in 2009 after Sandra Day O’Connor the first woman to serve on the Supreme Court, and expanded gay rights to all 50 states. She served 27 years as Court Justice; the term is for life or if the court justice chooses to retire. She fought extensively and remained diligent throughout her life and will never be forgotten. Rest Easy Queen we are truly thankful. ❤️🙌🏾
