We were excited to break ground this afternoon for a new inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital in South Point. PAM Health will be a 42 bed facility providing inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy services, offering comprehensive and individualized treatment aimed at enhancing patient recovery and outcomes. Along with PAM Health, we were joined by Catalyst Healthcare Real Estate, Warfel Construction, Mayor Jeff Gaskin and Commissioner Deanna Holliday.

Today we celebrated Manufacturing Day! We were happy to host employees from The Point Industrial Park to a soup bean and pulled pork lunch this afternoon. Manufacturing is a vital part of our economy.
It was also a great opportunity for students from Collins Career and Technical Center to demonstrate products and projects that they are working on also. We would like to thank those that sponsored as well as donated prize gifts.

The 400-foot stack that was last used by South Point Ethanol was demolistoday at the Point Industrial Park. The project is part of the Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program.

If you are interested in viewing the implosion of the 400 foot stack in The Point Industrial Park in South Point be at Engines Inc. Building #1(101 Commerce Drive) by 10:45am. The implosion will be between 11 and 11:15am. Commerce Drive will close at 10:45am.

Today we celebrated National Manufacturing Day in Lawrence County at the Southern Ohio Industrial District. LEDC recognizes the impact of manufacturing jobs and works to increase opportunities. We appreciate all of those that could come out today, the donors and sponsors. Thanks to UK Kings Daughter’s for bringing their mobile health unit for free health screenings and Collins Career Technical Center students and faculty for showcasing some of the programs they offer.

We’re proud recipients of a 2022 Appalachian Regional Commission POWER Initiative award! Our project Appalachian Freedom Heritage Tourism Initiative received $1.5 million and seeks to increase tourism to enhance our economies through creation of a regional collaboration of Underground Railroad cultural assets for coal-impacted communities with nearly 20 partners in 9 counties in OH-KY-WV.
