We are excited to announce the Students of the Month for April, May and June.
April
Preschool - Grayson Richardson - Grayson loves to help his teacher and his classmates. He is caring and will give friends hugs when they need one.
Kindergarten - Juel Richardson - Juel helped another student clean up their spilled crayons without being asked.
First Grade - Jace Fitzpatrick - Jace is an excellent representation of South River Primary School and truly deserves the student of the month title. His academic progress has been amazing to witness and I am so proud of all of his hard work this school year! Jace is a sweet and compassionate student who enjoys helping those who need it. His curiosity is inspiring as he is always asking higher level questions and looking for opportunities to challenge himself. Jace values and encourages his classmates with differing backgrounds and opinions, reminding others to do the same. I am honored to be Jace's first grade teacher and can't wait to see the great things he will do in second grade!
May
Preschool - Jakub Wojcik - Jakub has been waiting excitedly all year for his shout out, and when he finally heard his name as student of the month, he was beaming with pride! Jakub has gone out of his way all year to be helpful to his teachers and friends! He has been our sweep master all year, always jumping go help a friend sweep up a mess, even if it wasn’t his.
Kindergarten - Enzo Teco - Enzo is always the first to help his teachers and friends.
First Grade - Zack Dowen - Zack shows kindness everyday in many different ways. Our classroom atmosphere is better because of him!!
June
Preschool - Sofia Torres - No one deserves student of the month more than Sofia! She is a little singing ray of sunshine every day! She always takes time to tell her friends and teachers that she loves them, and always has a sweet smile on her face. She uses kind words and has kind thoughts. She is our sunshine!
Kindergarten - Jadiel Lopez - Jadiel is an amazing friend and classmate. We adore how kind and caring he is. When another child fell, he was the first one to go up to him and ask if he was alright and help him up! We are so proud of him!
First Grade - Carter Jackson - Carter is always willing to help others! His kindness never goes unnoticed!

Our 8th-grade students had a unique and thrilling experience this past week as the New Jersey State Police Helicopter made a special visit to our school! 🚓✈️
Students had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the vital role of the State Police Aviation Unit, explore the helicopter up close, and engage with the officers about their important work. This was an incredible educational experience that highlighted the importance of law enforcement and aviation in our community.
A huge thank you to the NJ State Police for taking the time to inspire and educate our future leaders. Your dedication and service are truly appreciated! 👏💙

The students at the Primary and elementary schools participated in the following activities today...
Primary School: Students made gratitude ribbons and participated in breathing exercises throughout the day. Dr. Lieberman read aloud to the students and all grades went outside to get some fresh air and take part in a scavenger hunt.
Elementary School: Students at the Elementary School took a wellness walk, learned about and practiced meditation, made bracelets and enjoyed music from staff-created positive playlists. Mr Valentin and Ms Selvaggio also did a school-wide read aloud.
The staff also attended a presentation by George Scott, aimed at enhancing wellness in both our personal and professional lives.
Our very first Wellness Day at South River Public Schools included some snacks, some yoga, nature bingo walks, a visit from Lily, the comfort dog.
Elementary fun day! It was a beautiful day for fun, laughter and making memories in the last 9 days of school.
A special thank you to -
- PTA who tirelessly planned the event to be amazing
- all of the volunteers who despite the heat and a field full of 7-12 year olds, were always smiling
- teachers who come to school day in and day out to teach the students but also make memories that will last a lifetime
- Mr Valentin and Ms Selvaggio for assisting the PTA with organizing the day
- South River fire department for always being the highlight of the day by cooling off all the students
- last but not least - the students for just being kids and having a great day of fun! You are the reason we do it!
The Primary and Elementary students continued their ABC countdown this week -
M for movie day
N for nice clothes day
O for outside day
P for pajama day
Q for queens and kings day
This week was definitely a week of kids just being kids. It was fun and carefree! Up next, fun day!
The Primary and Elementary participated in a day of service. Activities reached near and far - letters of appreciation for our first responders and all the way to letters to service men and women in Iraq.

Students in Mr. Christie’s class used our new whiteboard desks to collaborate and create a poem ❤️ “The tranquil ocean creates vibrant dreams as she silently sleeps. Effortlessly exploring and conquering the mountains. Dancing, singing, and running gleefully among the sunflowers, watching radiant stars. Wow!” Go Rams! 🐏
