Councilwoman Andrea Rendo

Councilwoman Andrea Rendo Welcome to the official page for the office of Councilwoman Andrea C. Rendo of Lewisboro, NY. Thank you!

RULES FOR POSTING: We like a fairly freewheeling atmosphere of discussion, so there are not many rules, but these few will be enforced:

1) Please keep the language clean. This is a public page for a government office; we ask that you not say anything on this page you wouldn't say in front of your kindly grandmother with the delicate sensibilities.

2) Please treat other posters and admins with re

spect and civility. Harassment, threats, personal insults and other aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.

3) Please stick to relevant content. We appreciate you all keeping your discussions along the lines of matters of public interest to the Lewisboro community and government.

4) Spam posts will be deleted without warning. This includes unauthorized solicitation, links to questionable websites, content irrelevant to Lewisboro (see Rule 3), repeated posting of the same content and other nuisance posting, etc.

5) First offenses will receive a warning from the admin. Repeat offenders will be blocked at the admin's discretion, depending on severity, frequency and other factors. Since this is a page for a public office, we want very much to keep blocking to a minimum; please work with us in pursuit of this goal by abiding by the few rules we have.

It's a comforting bit of wisdom at a time like this, when members of the global Jewish community are coming under intensifying attack, to remember the value of safeguarding and sharing one's light in dark times. To all my friends celebrating this week, may that wisdom bring some joy and peace to your lives.

234 years ago today, in 1791, the Bill of Rights became law when Virginia's legislature completed the three-fourths majority needed for the states to ratify the first ten amendments to the Constitution. The primary architect of these amendments, James Madison (later the 4th President of the United States), proposed them to secure certain checks on federal authority. Happy Bill of Rights Day, Lewisboro!

Last night, at the final Town Board meeting of my term, I read the following remarks, which I'm reposting here for you all:

-----------

I just wanted to let the people of Lewisboro know what a privilege it’s been serving on your Town Board these past four years.

My colleagues and I worked together constructively and professionally, and on the occasions that we disagreed, I’d like to think we were able to resolve those differences in an equally professional way.

As liaison to the Master Plan Steering Committee, I ‘m glad to have played a part in keeping our progress on track to its successful conclusion. It was wonderful to work with a group of such motivated residents.

It’s been a pleasure to act as liaison to the Lewisboro Police Department, and I am thrilled that we are moving towards providing them with a permanent home as they grow under the leadership and vision of Chief David Alfano.

As co-liaison to the Highway Department, I took great satisfaction in helping find the funds for the largest increase in their budget for 2025 that they have seen in years. I expect John Winter to continue doing the incredible job we know he is capable of. We are lucky to have such a breath of fresh air.

I hope our residents will stay engaged in what is coming up on the agenda for the Board over the next year, as there are many issues that have been put on the back burner until after my term ends. These include:

— The additional cell tower being sought to be placed at the Salt Dome property
— Further updating the tree ordinance
— A proposed Excavation and Fill Ordinance
— A proposed Steep Slopes Ordinance

…to name a few. I ask that the people of our town stay watchful as the Board continues.

The Town needs to be diligent in protecting our fund balance and to take a conservative approach to a well-thought-out long-term capital plan.

We need to look to the future and find the best way to maintain our current assets while keeping a careful eye on how we continue to grow and evolve. Our neighbors expect and deserve no less.

Thank you all for four meaningful years, and I look forward to seeing you around town.

This is what I have been suspicious of the entire time. This is why Richard Sklarin, Mary Shah and myself agreed that we should NOT renew with Sustainable Westchester. All Rich and Mary got was grief from those who felt they should just blindly support Dan Welsh and his employer.

DUBLIN, IRELAND (November 7, 2025) — Sustainable Westchester has announced it will end its Westchester Power community energy program on Nov. 30, returning tens of thousands of customers across 26 municipalities to default Con Edison or NYSEG service. The nonprofit cited new state regulations that...
