Join us for an eye-opening informative session on climate change where we dive into what's happening, why it matters, and what we can do about it—together.

Make sure you join us next Tuesday April 22nd @ 7pm at the Library to celebrate Earth Day with a presentation on The Science Behind Climate Change, led by the Lewisboro Sustainability Committee.

Topics include: what is happening and why, the potential impact on our families and future generations, the role humans play, the critical difference between the current climate change and those that have occurred in the past, and admissions by major fossil fuel companies regarding the role their products play and the extreme impacts on everyone by their continued use. The presentation will be followed by a group discussion and questions.

Please register on our website: https://lewisborolibrary.org/event/the-science-behind-climate-change/

This is the first in a series of climate discussions that will be held bimonthly on the 4th Tuesday of the month – mark your calendars!

John Jay High School's Earth Rise Sustainability Club spent the morning helping the Westchester Land Trust open their garden. 🌱

“We cleaned out several beds and planted peas, carrots, arugula, and radishes,” said Jill Hirshfeld, who advises the club with Krista Munger. “We also learned a lot about the Land Trust and how it works to buy and preserve land around the county.”

The club plans to go back in June to harvest and plant more veggies, all of which are donated to the Westchester Food Bank to help provide healthy, organic produce to the many people around the county who can't afford it and/or suffer from food scarcity.

"It was a wonderful and inspiring morning, and students left feeling inspired by the impact they can have in creating a healthier world and environment!”
