We had an absolutely amazing time today as SSL Arts and SSL Promise collaborated to host a powerful photovoice project. Our local young adults dove into Photography 101, learning not just the basics of a camera, but how to authentically tell their own stories through their photos.

Seeing the sheer amount of creativity each individual brought to that room was next level inspiring. Giving our youth the space and tools to explore their creative voices today is exactly what will drive our city forward into the future.

The countdown to Craftober Fest is on, and South Salt Lake Arts is looking for artists to join the party!

Every fall, our community comes together in the heart of South Salt Lake to enjoy live music, grab some delicious food, sip on local craft brews, and—most importantly—shop amazing handmade art. We have space for up to 100 artists this year, and we would absolutely love to share what you've been working on.

(Just a quick heads-up: We want to celebrate true artisanship, so we are only accepting original, handcrafted work—no mass-produced or manufactured items, please!)

Applications Due: August 14 by 5pm
When: Saturday, October 3, 2026
Where: 2460 S Oakland Ave (2480 S) between Main St. & West Temple

Adventures in Printmaking is not your average art class. Taught by the incredible instructors at Bad Dog Arts, this is a bold, anything-goes, totally irreverent approach to printing where curiosity leads the way and the rules don't exist.

No experience? No problem. Just bring a willingness to experiment and laugh at the mess!

🌀 What We’ll Explore:
Gelli Printing & Stencils: Create rich, layered patterns and unexpected marks.

Collagraph Techniques: Build deep, unique textures.

DIY Tools: Learn how to turn everyday, ordinary materials into extraordinary printing tools.

What happens when a community’s promise and a maker’s movement collide? Introducing Creative Futures! 
Between, Promise South Salt Lake, Craft Lake City, and South Salt Lake Arts, we’re empowering the next generation of creative entrepreneurs. Local youth are getting access to professional tools, artisan mentorship, and hands-on lessons in economic literacy, like pricing, branding, and valuing their labor.
