Some live items from tonight's SSFUSD Board meeting: Superintendent Shawnterra Moore says she has heard desire for community to move forward with workforce housing, and reiterated that the funds are set aside as part of Measure T.
Staff is, however, prioritizing modernization and safety going first. District plans to move forward on staff housing in the future, but not too soon.
(I spoke and mentioned that the workforce housing was a key factor us Measure T proponents used to sell the ballot measure, so please continue moving forward).
Board is hearing annual update on police contacts on campus. There were 116 in 2025-26 school year, of which only 58 involved school liaison officer. One student arrest. Far fewer contacts than two years ago.
Top three reasons for SSFUSD police contacts: 19 were Child Protective Services related, 18 were follow-up investigations, eight were related to self-harm referrals. Just three were for fighting or assault.

From next week's SSF Planning Commission agenda: a proposal to temporarily paint the letters on Sign Hill red, white, and blue this summer for the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. They would be repainted the traditional white in Fall 2026.
