🎨❤️OUR CARDINALS ARE LEAVING THEIR MARK ON THE COMMUNITY!🖤
We absolutely LOVE seeing the talents of our SSC students extend beyond our school walls and into the community!
Several South Sioux City High School students were selected as paid apprentice artists for an incredible public art project now on display at the Sioux City Art Center’s Gilchrist Learning Center in downtown Sioux City.
👏 Help us celebrate our SSC student artists:
🎨 Malillany Alvarez – Sophomore
🎨 Brady Bowman – Sophomore
🎨 Leonardo Olvera Dominguez – Junior
🎨 Marisa Guevara – Sophomore
🎨 Christy Roque – Sophomore
🎨 Zeppelin Sulzbach – Sophomore
These students didn't just pick up a paintbrush. Over the course of several months, they had the opportunity to experience what goes into creating meaningful public art, participating in creative workshops, mural tours, conversations, poetry, drawing, collaborative design and, ultimately, bringing those ideas to life on a large scale.
What an incredible opportunity to learn from professional artists, develop new skills, collaborate with other young creatives and contribute something lasting to their community.
A HUGE shoutout to the Sioux City Art Center and Mural On The Wall, led by artists Reyna Hernandez and Amber Hansen, for investing in young artists and creating opportunities like this for them to learn, grow and have their voices represented in public spaces. 👏🎨
The arts matter. ❤️ They give young people an outlet to express themselves, explore ideas, tell stories, build confidence and see the world through different perspectives. We must continue fostering those creative outlets and encouraging students to pursue the talents and passions that make them uniquely themselves.
To our Cardinals, keep creating, keep learning, and keep putting your ideas out into the world. We hope this is only the beginning! 🎨✨

¡Nos ENCANTA ver cómo el talento de nuestros estudiantes de SSC trasciende las paredes de nuestras escuelas y llega a nuestra comunidad!
Varios estudiantes de South Sioux City High School fueron seleccionados como aprendices de arte remunerados para participar en un increíble proyecto de arte público que ahora se encuentra en exhibición en el Gilchrist Learning Center del Sioux City Art Center, en el centro de Sioux City.

Estos estudiantes hicieron mucho más que tomar un pincel. Durante varios meses, tuvieron la oportunidad de aprender todo lo que implica crear arte público con significado: participaron en talleres creativos, recorridos de murales, conversaciones, poesía, dibujo, diseño colaborativo y, finalmente, llevaron todas esas ideas a la realidad a gran escala.
¡Qué increíble oportunidad para aprender de artistas profesionales, desarrollar nuevas habilidades, colaborar con otros jóvenes creativos y contribuir con algo que dejará una huella duradera en su comunidad!
Queremos dar un ENORME reconocimiento al Sioux City Art Center y a Mural On The Wall, bajo la dirección de las artistas Reyna Hernandez y Amber Hansen, por invertir en nuestros jóvenes artistas y crear oportunidades como esta, donde pueden aprender, crecer y hacer que sus voces e ideas estén representadas en espacios públicos. 👏🎨
El arte importa.❤️ Brinda a nuestros jóvenes un espacio para expresarse, explorar ideas, contar historias, desarrollar confianza y ver el mundo desde diferentes perspectivas. Debemos continuar fomentando estos espacios creativos y animando a nuestros estudiantes a desarrollar los talentos y pasiones que los hacen únicos.
A nuestros Cardinals:¡sigan creando, sigan aprendiendo y sigan compartiendo sus ideas con el mundo! Esperamos que esto sea solo el comienzo. 🎨✨
