MacDill AFB Operation Cookie Drop 2026 was a success. We had enough cookies to fill 410 boxes. Thank you for the volunteers that put together that many boxes, packed the boxes, placed cards and stickers on the boxes, kept the cookie line moving, those who kept counting the boxes to ensure we had set up enough and the clean up crew. We could not have done this even without the sponsorship of WSA booster club. Thank you so much for stepping up and helping out today. A very special thank you for the home bakers who took time out of their busy schedule to make the cookies. Thank you Colleen Vargas for your cookie donations. Thank you Brittanie Lake Maffeo from MFRC not only for your Christmas cheer outfit but your help today as well. Thank you so much for Blue Star Families for your cookie donations. We do appreciate you making the personal visit to drop off the cookies. Thank you to Daughter of American Revolution/ Blue Star families of Greater Tampa Bay for your generosities. A big thank you to Tampa Bay Lightening for your generosity. We would also like to thank Julia Martin for your generosity as well. A big thank you to Karen Goff and FFA students from Tinker elementary school taking the time to write personal cards to each dorm resident- I know the residents appreciate this extra effort. I can not thank Kelly Flannery enough for your personal and professional support. You do so much for this base. Thank you to STCOC Military Affair Council and Honorary Commander program for your support in this event to make it successful. I am sure there were more to thank and I apologize for not publicly thanking you but I do appreciate your support. Save the date for next year. First Friday of December.

Lookin for ideas to bake for December 5th?

These chocolate brownie cookies are super fudgy, have no chill time, and can be made in less than 25 minutes! They are absolutely delicious!

It's about that time! who's baking some delicious cookies?

Wow! You guys delivered! We had so many donations from our home bakers! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to bake cookies for our airmen. What we couldn't deliver to the dorms, we distributed to as many squadrons as we could today. A very special thank you to Kelly Flannery and South Tampa Chambers of Commerce, our civic leaders, and honorary commanders for their donations. Wow, you bring the boom! Thanks to Colleen Vargas and Robinson High School culinary class for the many different cookies baked. A very special thank you to USO for your donations. First shirts, thank you for your donation and for delivering cookies to our dorm residents. Thank you to everyone, Ashley, Brittanys, and chapel RAs who came to set up boxes and pkg cookies- I could not have done it without you. With help from Candace Mrazik, Tinker Elementary put together personalized cards for the boxes. A big thank you from our mission partners- we couldn't have done this without CMSgt Raun Howell. These are the special touches that our young servicemembers need during the holidays. This is when we should reach out and ensure they are ok. Holidays are hard but especially when you are away from family. Happy Holidays everyone!

If you are not able to donate cookies, please consider purchasing these items for the cookie drop. In other bases, this even is sponsored and supported by the spouse's club, however MacDill does not have a club so this event is sponsored by the WSA booster club. Booster clubs on base have limited times to fundraise and most of that money is spent in the squadron they support. Operation Cookie Drop is a base-wide event, and the cookies are donated to all dorm residents, whether they are Air Force, Army, Navy, or Marines. This is just a small token of what we can give to these young military members who are away from home during the holidays. This is also an opportunity for the first shirts to collect the cookies and hand them out in an informal setting to reach out to them and make sure they are ok. We need your support in whatever capacity you can give!
