We will be joined by former members of the Susquehanna Valley Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team and a retired NYPD officer who were involved in recovery efforts at the World Trade Center following the attacks.

Our guests will share their personal experiences, memories, and reflections from their time at Ground Zero during the fall and winter of 2001.

Together, we will remember those who lost their lives, honor the brave men and women who responded, and reflect on the lasting impact of that day.

This will be an evening of remembrance, conversation, history, and honoring those who served.

The Fire Department has 28 Cleaning kits for any resident that needs them to help clean there basement.

The kit includes;
1 Broom
1 Scrub Brush
1 Mop
1 Squeegee
1 pair of work gloves
1 pair of long latex gloves
1 mask
Couple trash bags
1 bottle of hard cleaner/degreaser

We are still answering calls of service from the significant rainstorm that came through in the early morning hours yesterday. Your volunteers answered many alarms and residents are still finding damage from the water runoff.

RESIDENTS OF SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT BOROUGH

I ADVISE ALL RESIDENTS WHOSE PROPERTY WAS DAMAGED IN THE STORM THAT CAME THROUGH THE BOROUGH ON SEPTEMBER 2ND AND INTO SEPTEMBER 3RD, TO REPORT DAMAGES TO THE BOROUGH'S EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR. REPORTING DAMAGES HELPS TO DETERMINE IF THE TOTAL OF ALL DAMAGES MEET PEMA REQUIREMENTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. IF YOU NEED HELP ASSESSING ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR PROPERTY, THE COUNTY EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT CAN HELP WITH THE ASSESSMENT.

So far there has been 5 homes with collapse of foundation walls and many homes with basement flooding.

The Fire Department no longer pumps basements out due to insurance reasons but will come assess and help point you in th edirection of recieving help.

South Units are currently operating in Clinton County with multiple water rescues.

Captain 5 is coordinating multiple calls within the borough with mutual aid and the City.

Tonight as members gathered for training we were requested to assist Hepburn Township Volunteer Fire Company with a large mulch fire. Car, Ladder, and Squad made the trip with 11 volunteers. Units arrived on scene and Car was assigned water supply officer, ladder was assigned aerial master stream, and squad crew stood by to respond to calls of service while units operated on scene for almost 4 hours. Over 80,000 gallons of water moved thru the ladder pipe.
