We had an overwhelming response to teacher appreciation week! The staff got to build their own bouquets purchased by the families of our center. It is clear how much the teachers are loved here!

Thank you to everyone who had volunteered their time on April 17th for our Volunteer Day to honor Family Day for the Week of the Young Child. Family members came in and helped fill our outdoor sandboxes, cleaned up the garden, fixed a fence that was falling down, and helped to repair some much loved equipment we have in Nature's Classroom. SWCDC has never looked better!

Another SWCDC Art Show/Family Night success! Each classroom hosted a craft for the families to participate in and then everyone was able to check out the art show down in the gross motor room. It was a great night of mingling, crafting, and beautiful artwork!

Ms. Ayesha came to speak with the Cardinal students about Ramadan and Eid al Fitr. She came to school wearing her traditional clothing, jewelry, and brought in a henna cone to show. She read the class a book sharing about how during Ramadan families fast, and that Eid all Fitr is know as the sweet Eid. They celebrated by ending Ramadan usually with something sweet. Ms. Ayesha then made sawaya with students, a traditional sweet pasta dessert. Thank you Ms. Ayesha for sharing your culture with us! Happy Eid to all!
