FULL MOON PHENOMENON
Thursday night at 6:45 pm thousands of horseshoe crabs will be arriving on the beach at the bay side of Pikes Beach in the village of Westhampton Dunes. Volunteers will be there to tag some of the crabs and Cornell cooperative extension staff will be present to answer questions and instruct the public on the importance of this ancient living fossil. See the crabs emerging from the water to lay their eggs in the sand. This beach is one of the most prolific breeding sites on Long Island
