At 0327hrs Southborough Emergency Communications received a call for a structure fire on Pine Hill Road. A “1st Alarm” was struck bring in automatic aid from our mutual aid partners. Companies arrived on scene to find a well developed fire in an attached oversized garage. All occupants were accounted for.

Southborough Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and extinguished a bulk of the fire. Mutual aid crews assisted with Search, Water Supply, and extensive overhaul.

The structure was deemed unsafe by the building commissioner. The cause is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

One Firefighter was treated and released on scene. There were no civilian injuries.

Congratulations to FF/Paramedic Lynch on his graduation from the Massachusetts Fire Academy Career Recruit Class #341. This 10 week program focuses on the foundational physical and academic requirements for the Firefighter 1-2 Certification.

FF Lynch will report back to his assigned shift and apply these skills to our Standard Operating Procedures and and continue on his Probationary Firefighter Training Manual with his officers and training coordinator.

Ladder 26 has returned following assisting Westborough Fire Department at a building fire. Group 1 is on duty.

Southborough Firefighters training on the “1st Alarm Drill” today. The shift trains on the initial 5-10min after arriving at a building fire where they are tasked with aggressive fire suppression and search and rescue in addition to obtaining their own water supply.

Patrick Purcell is retiring after 27 years with the Westborough Fire Department, the last 11 as chief.

We had some very special visitors stop by the station yesterday evening!

Scarlett (9) and her little sister Everleigh (almost 2) came to visit our firefighters, check out the trucks, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the fire station. It was a pleasure having them here and sharing a little bit about what we do every day to serve our community.

Southborough Fire and Southborough Police Department are searching for a missing person. Last know to have been walking to the Mary Finn School from the Southville road area.

Last know to be wearing Orange Sneakers and Dark T-Shirt, and Khaki pants.
