Over the weekend the 601st conducted a FTX with various events to prepare its soldiers for their upcoming annual training. The unit conducted Zero/qual ranges for both the M4 and SAW (249). Then, the unit transitioned into setting up a bivouac site, training on AWTs, Land Nav and Night Drivers training. Lastly, the unit recognized CPT Repp with a ETS award for his outstanding leadership during his tenure at the 601st.

Big thank you to SSG Mclaughlin for taking time out of his schedule to get this award made for CPT Repp and the soldiers who chipped in for the purchase.

SSG Bowser here. Happy Thanksgiving to our 601st family and alum!

02/26/2024

Good afternoon team, SFC Pearson here. Today is the day I say goodbye to the 601st and the state of Michigan and handover my responsibilities to SSG Killingbeck and soon SSG Bowser. I had a great experience here in the 601st over the past 3 years and learned a lot about myself and how to be a better leader. I want to thank the Commanders, NCOs and Soldiers I was able to work with. Thank you for your support and faith in me and allowing me the opportunity to lead and train this unit. I hope I was able to make an impact and steer this unit in the right direction. I wish you all the best of luck in the future and I know I'm leaving you in good hands with the current leadership. Again thank you all, SFC Pearson out.

Good morning Draugrs! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I'm a few days late on this post but wanted to share about our events this past drill. We we're able to start off the new year right with some well deserved promotions that include SPC Torossian, SGT Kane and SSG Squires!

This Battle Assembly, because of the weather this time of year, our focus was to conduct admin operations to ensure all our Soldiers are up to date with all necessary paper work. This also gave our Maintenance NCO the opportunity to give an in-depth class on proper PMCS procedures and why they are important to our newer Soldiers.

Hello everyone, it's been a while since we posted. This past wekeend we conduct our annual individual weapons qualification. There was a bit of a rough start but in the end we succeeded in qualifying all our Soldiers.

We were also able to promote 2 Soldiers, SPC Ramsey and PFC Petrossi.

We said goodbye to our Commander for the last 2 years, CPT Holmes. His ability to bring energy and moral along with his knowledge and leadership made him a great Commander especially during the uncertainty in the covid environment. Thank you for everything sir and good luck to you.

Lastly, we officially welcome CPT Repp in taking over the 601st. You have some big shoes to fill and a lot of changes coming during your time, but I have zero doubt that you will not only succeed, but with the help of the Soldiers, you will thrive. We can't wait to see where you lead us sir!
