The Southfield Fire Department serves the citizens and visitors of the City of Southfield and Lathrup Village. We are currently staffed with 102 full-time members and have firefighters and paramedics on duty 24 hours a day / 7 days a week / 365 days a year, who respond from 5 fire stations that are strategically placed around our response area. The Southfield Fire Department provides both emergenc

y and non-emergency services to the following incidents:

** All types of Fires (home, vehicle, etc.)
** Medical Emergencies
** Motor Vehicle Accidents
** Hazardous Materials Spills or Release
** Technical Rescue Incidends -High Angle Rescue -Confined Space Rescue -Structural Collapse -Trench Collapse -Machine Rescue -Ice Rescue
** Weapons of Mass Distruction Incidents
** Police Assist Requests
** Building Fire Inspections
** Public Education Programs
** Much, much more! The Southfield Fire Department is also a member of the OAKWAY Mutual Aid Group / MABAS Division 3202. This group consists of 11 full-time career fire departments in Oakland County (Birmingman, Bloomfield Twp, Farmington Hills, Ferndale, Independence Township, Madison Heights, Rochester Hills, Royal Oak, Southfield, Waterford Regional, and West Bloomfield) who respond to assist each other for large scale or specialty incidents.

You never know what each day is going to bring at the SFD. A resident pulled up to the station saying this little guy was in her wheel well…. from 8 and Van D**e! Took a bit, some elbow grease and a lot of hissing but we got him out. We offered to find this little guy a home but the resident stated she wants to keep him. Tentative name is warthog!
