PREPAREDNESS MONTH WEEKLY EVENTS! We know that learning about preparedness isn’t the most fascinating thing in the world—important, life-saving, helpful, YES. But fascinating?! *nervous laughter*

So to educate you and let you win some stuff (Southlake Fire Pokémon cards, anyone), Emergency Manager Amanda Meneses has set up a nice little Pokémon Go challenge for you that runs from September 6th through September 15th.

If you’re thinking “WELL PLAYED EMERGENCY MANAGER AMANDA MENESES, CLEARLY YOU STRUCTURED THIS EVENT WITH THE UNVEILING OF POKEMON GO’S PALDEA REGION YESTERDAY,” then good on you. Don’t ask Emergency Manager Amanda Meneses about the Paldea region though, because ummmm, she just likes talking about preparedness right now and this was in no way a coincidence. *nervous laughter*

SO! Head over to the Southlake Emergency Management to find five Pokémon Go stops in Town Square (super easy, super easy) and trek out to those locations in the real world. Each place will have a colorful 8.5"x11" card attached with preparedness info on it, so snap a pic of it, and then upload it to: https://forms.gle/LbqynXRZ937AK4ra9

It’s very, very simple—it’s not like we’re asking you to spell ‘preparedness’ or anything.

When you upload all five pix, you’re entered to win a bevy of prizes ranging from gift cards to Southlake Firémon cards to Southlake Fire t-shirts! If you also happen to be at the Celebrate Southlake! event, you can come by our booth and show the five Pokéstops you photographed and INSTANTLY get Southlake Firémon cards. Plus, you’ll also be entered in a drawing for those aforementioned prizes.

More information can be found at Emergency Manager Amanda Meneseseseseseses’ Emergency Management page at Southlake Emergency Management.
