Grateful for Our Community

The Southport Police Department would like to extend a very special thank you to Kaitlyn Kilgo from the United Methodist Church for stopping by and bringing food for our officers.

Thoughtful moments like this remind us how fortunate we are to serve such a caring, supportive community. Southport is more than where we work; it’s a community of neighbors, families, churches, businesses, and officers who look out for one another.

The relationships we build with the people we serve are incredibly important to us. Sometimes those relationships are strengthened through big community events, and sometimes they happen through something as simple and meaningful as someone stopping by to say, “We’re thinking about you.”

Kaitlyn, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support of our officers. It truly means more than you know.

We’re grateful for you, and we’re grateful to be part of this community. Together, we make Southport a special place to call home.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who answered the call, and hold their families in our hearts. Their courage, sacrifice, and service will never be forgotten.
