Today, we celebrate the people who keep our city moving, from the small business owners and city employees to the teachers, first responders, farmers, and hardworking families who make Southside what it is.

Whether you're spending the day on the Coosa, cheering from the ballfield, or enjoying a well-earned day off, we hope you have a happy Labor Day, Southside!

City Hall will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

There will be no garbage pickup on Monday, and trash collection will operate on a one-day delay for the remainder of the week.

Please plan accordingly, and we hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend!

The Alabama League of Municipalities’ six standing committees met in Montgomery, bringing together local leaders and state and federal resource advisors to discuss community needs, partnerships, and funding opportunities.
