Dear Neighbors,

🌿 Wildlife Wednesdays: Wetlands Matter 💧

Wetlands are some of the most important ecosystems in Southwest Ranches. They help filter pollutants from our water, reduce flooding by storing excess rainwater, recharge groundwater supplies, and provide essential habitat for a wide variety of wildlife, including birds, turtles, frogs, fish, and native plants.

By protecting our wetlands, we're helping preserve the natural beauty and ecological health that make our community unique.

Take a moment this week to appreciate these incredible natural spaces and remember that even small actions, like properly disposing of waste and avoiding dumping yard debris into canals and wetlands, can make a big difference.

Dear Neighbors,

🦋 🌻 Wildlife Wednesday: Pollinator Gardens 🐝

Did you know that pollinators like butterflies, bees, moths, and hummingbirds play a vital role in supporting healthy ecosystems? These hardworking species help pollinate many of the plants that provide food, shelter, and habitat for wildlife.

One of the best ways to support pollinators is by creating a pollinator-friendly garden. Native flowering plants provide nectar, pollen, and host plants that help pollinators thrive throughout the year.

⚠️ Please Note: While some plants are excellent for attracting pollinators, certain species may be toxic to livestock. Residents with horses or other grazing animals should research plant selections carefully before planting.

Every pollinator-friendly garden, no matter the size, helps support local wildlife and contributes to a healthier environment for all.
