I'll wait... ⏳

Butt seriously, clean up after your pets. We want to keep our trails fresh and f***l free. There are bags and trash cans provided along the trails to make the p**p pickup process as painless as possible. Doo-doo your part and clean up your dog's dookies.

💩Thank you, Spanish Fork! 💩

Next on the runway is the Mansfield home.

It’s wearing a freshly tailored lawn with curved edging, statement hydrangeas, a dramatic blue spruce and a custom weeping tree.

The yellow flowers bring the sparkle. The red daylilies add just enough drama.

Accessories include natural stone, river rock and a bubbling boulder fountain.

The look is polished, colorful and ready for its close-up.

Congratulations to the Mansfields, this week’s Yard of the Week.

A company called Volition presented at our August 4 city council meeting on a proposed data center concept. They will also present to our planning commission tonight at 6 p.m. A recording of the city council meeting is available on our YouTube, and a recording of the planning commission meeting will be up later tonight.

They will also hold three open houses next week to share more details, answer questions, and gather community feedback at the Heritage Room at Library Hall (80 S Main St):

▪️ Thursday, August 13 from 6:00-8:30 pm
▪️ Friday, August 14 from 2:00-4:30 pm
▪️ Saturday, August 15 from 10:00 am-12:30 pm

It is anticipated that the city council will hold a public hearing related to the proposal at their August 18 meeting.

We know where this post ends.

But where do we even begin?

Maybe here:

There’s a TV show called *The Librarians*, where librarians possess incredible skills and regularly save the world.

Or maybe here:

Our employees put out figurative dumpster fires every day. On Tuesday, they got to put out a literal dumpster fire.

Or perhaps here:

Keep a cookie tin around the office. You never know when it might need to be filled with water and turned into emergency firefighting equipment.

Tuesday morning, Library employees Scott, Kristina, and Lexi noticed smoke coming from a trash can outside Library Hall.

They called 911, grabbed the nearest firefighting implement available, filled a cookie tin with water, and switched into hero mode.

Was it a raging inferno?

No.

Was there enough smoke to require action?

Probably.

By the time Fire & EMS arrived, the situation was under control.

In recognition of their courageous actions, Fire & EMS unofficially deputized the trio, plastic firefighter hats and all.

Scott, Kristina, and Lexi were less than gods on Tuesday, but more than mere mortals.

As promised, we know where this post ends:

Please don't put burning cigarette butts in garbage cans.
