***Aircraft incident***

On 08/07/2026 at 4PM, First Responders were notified of an aircraft that had crashed into Utah Lake, near the Utah Lake State Park in Provo. The aircraft had just taken off from the Provo Airport.

There were two persons on board the aircraft at the time of the crash, an adult female and an adult male. The adult male passenger, unfortunately, did pass away during the crash. The adult female pilot did sustain non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local area hospital.

Thankfully the pilot was able to put the aircraft down in shallower water, which did aid in the rescue/recovery efforts.

We would like to offer our condolences to the family of the deceased, and we will not be releasing the names of the parties involved at this time.

The NTSB will be conducting their investigation into what caused the crash. The Utah State Medical Examiner’s office was also contacted and is conducting their respective investigation.

We would like to express our gratitude to the numerous agencies and rescuers that quickly responded to this incident.

The Northside of the Utah Lake State Park is closed and will most likely remain so for the rest of the evening. The aircraft will be also be left in place, at least overnight, so please do not go near that scene.

Earlier this year we lost LT Jason Randall. We all knew that Jason was an avid Challenge Coin collector. Jason would try and collect coins from Law Enforcement agencies he worked or trained with and he has coins from all over.

One of our Sergeants in the jail made this beautiful challenge coin display for Jason's family and we gave that to them this week.

Jason maybe gone but he will never be forgotten.

Though it has been 25 years, may his legacy and memory never be forgotten. Sergeant Joseph Adams EOW August 4, 2001.

Though it has been 25 years, may his legacy and memory never be forgotten.

Sergeant Joseph Adams EOW August 4, 2001.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the line-of-duty death of Sergeant Joseph Adams, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the citizens of Lehi on August 4, 2001.

For twenty-five years, Sergeant Adams' sacrifice has remained a lasting reminder of the courage, commitment, and selflessness required to wear the badge. His legacy continues to live on through the officers who serve this community each day and through a department that remains committed to honoring those who came before us.

We remember Sergeant Adams for the life he lived, the service he gave, and the oath he faithfully upheld. His sacrifice will never be forgotten, and his legacy continues to inspire those who wear the badge today.

Please join us in taking a moment to remember a fallen brother and to keep his family, friends, and fellow officers in your thoughts.

End of Watch: August 4, 2001

Never Forgotten.
